The Hiker takes orthopedic performance shoes one step further. Now you can really take to the hills in orthopedic comfort knowing that your feet are as stable and protected as they are back in the city. The Hiker adds a level of stability to the ankle for those people who like to ramble, be that in the mountains or the local mall! This shoe uses a combination of suede and nylon mesh to maintain a constant and comfortable environment inside the shoe.

The Performance Footwear line is designed with considerable extra depth for a total of 9/16ths of an inch which allows for a truly custom depth fit. A combination of a high quality insole 1/4-inch-deep, along with two other removable spacers, one at 1/8th inch and one at 3/16ths, enables the practitioner multiple options when addressing various pathologies like leg length discrepancy (LLD). LLD is considered the root cause of lower back pain where the hip alignment needs to be adjusted. This is a very common cause of pain for people who work on their feet all day and have LLD.
The extra depth feature is also designed to accommodate functional orthotics as well as most bracing and ankle / foot orthoses (AFO’s.)
The Slip Resistant rubber outsole combined with the orthopedic design of the upper provides the solution for people who suffer from working on their feet all day. The depth orthopedic upper built on a wide stable last to ensure added balance and control combined with the slip resistant outsole, minimizes the risk of fall considerably.
ASTM and SATRA rated slip resistant footwear ***WATER ONLY*** The Performance rubber outsole exceeded the slip resistance requirements for both the ASTM F 1677-2005 and the SATRA TM144-2007 quarry tile standard for both wet and dry conditions. Water only. NOT suitable for oil/kitchen work.
